Break out candidate: Dennis Tankersley
11.18.04 (1:01 pm) [edit]
Player A: Minor League Resume 5 seasons K/9: 8.98 BB/9: 4.29 H/9: 7.90
Player B: Minor League Resume 6 seasons K/9: 9.64 BB/9: 3.49 H/9: 7.60
Player A will sign for about 32 million dollars over 4 years this season.
Player B will be the second K machine that the Padres have dumped after early control struggles.
Dennis Tankersley say hello to Matt Clement. Put Tankersley in the rotation with a half decent infield(Teahen, Berroa spelled by Blanco, and Murphy) and he could have a monster season.

Arizona Fall League..
11.18.04 (12:53 pm) [edit]
IP: 78-2/3 H: 70 BB: 24 K: 53 HR: 4
WHIP: 1.19 K/9: 6.06 BB/9: 2.75 H/9: 8.00 HR/9: 0.45
If those numbers look strange to you maybe they should. They are the combined lines from the Arizona Fall League of Mike Stodolka, Wes Wilkerson, Billy Keppinger, and Brian Bass. In a league that has heavily favored hitters 4 of our minor league charges performed admirably. I hope this is a reflection of the early work that Gus Hansen has been performing with our pitchers.
